Privacy Policy
Welcome to SearchOnMath. The Privacy Policy of the SearchOnMath site and services is presented in this document. We reserve the right to change or modify this Privacy Policy at our sole discretion, at any time. Any changes or modifications to this Privacy Policy will take effect immediately upon publication on the SearchOnMath website, with the user being responsible for periodically reviewing the most up-to-date version. This Privacy Policy is valid for all users who in any way make use of SearchOnMath. The continued use of the SearchOnMath services constitutes acceptance of any changes or modifications made to the Privacy Policy.
1. Definitions
- User
- anyone who makes use of the site.
- Registered User
- any User who has a valid account on the site, with access depending on a Password.
- Password
- a string of characters used by a Registered User when logging in to the site.
- Query
- any interaction with the server with the purpose of submitting text and / or mathematical formulas to be searched, returning when finished a list of results. This list will be empty whenever the search turns up no results.
2. Collected information
To become a Registered User, a User has to provide SearchOnMath with only an e-mail address and a strong Password. SearchOnMath stores this e-mail address in a database, as well as an encrypted version of the Password. The SearchOnMath team has therefore no access to the Password provided by the User. When the User purchases Queries, credit card information is stored in the companies responsible for processing the payment (currently, PayPal for single purchases and Stripe for recurring purchases). SearchOnMath does not store credit card data.
SearchOnMath stores data related to the Queries submitted. For each Query, the following is stored: Date and time, client IP, the Query itself, requested page, response time (in ms), approximate number of results found, and Plan Id, which will be different from 0 only for users that have issued at least one Query. All this information is available for download in the Usage History section, through the administration panel on the website.
SearchOnMath keeps the Registered User session through the usage of Cookies. When accessing SearchOnMath, access
data is collected and sent to Google Analytics. It includes: accessed pages and URLs; mathematical keyboard
buttons used to build formulas; other clicks and scrolls on the page for performance measurement; and if the
data either comes from a logged or non-logged User. SearchOnMath does not identify Registered Users individually
through Google Analytics. No further data is collected. To better understand how Google collect and process
data, visit:

3. User consent
When providing personal information as described in item 2, it is understood that the User consents to its being collected by SearchOnMath. The User who wishes to withdraw this consent must request the deletion of the account by sending an e-mail to [email protected]. In the event that personal information is requested for any secondary reason, such as for marketing purposes, the User will be explicitly asked whether consent is granted.
4. Disclosure
SearchOnMath undertakes that personal information will not be disclosed, unless disclosure is required by law or in the event of a violation of the SearchOnMath Terms of Use.
5. Third party services
In general, service providers to which SearchOnMath outsources will be given access only to User information necessary for the hired services to be performed.
However, some of these providers, such as payment gateways and other payment processors, have their own privacy policies with respect to the information that SearchOnMath is required to provide in order to complete purchase transactions. In these cases, the User should become acquainted with the providers’ own privacy policies.
In particular, the User should note that certain providers may be located (or have facilities located) in jurisdictions other than that of the User or of SearchOnMath. Thus, as the User proceeds with a transaction involving the services of a third party, the information provided may become subject to the laws of the jurisdiction(s) in which the provider or its facilities are located.
As the User leaves the SearchOnMath website or is redirected to a third party application or website, this Privacy Policy and the SearchOnMath Terms of Use cease to apply. SearchOnMath is not responsible for the privacy practices of other sites and encourages the User to be informed about them.
6. Security
To protect the Users' personal information, reasonable precautions are taken and industry best practices are followed to minimize the risk that information stored by SearchOnMath is lost, misused, accessed, disclosed, altered, or destroyed.
7. Information transfer
Should SearchOnMath be acquired by (or merged with) another company, the Users' information may be transferred to (or shared with) the new company, in order to guarantee the continued supply of services.
